Adopting

Please call us at (716) 634-2462 or e-mail us at rachel_murphy@smallpets-bighearts.org about adopting any of the rescues.  We do tend to check our e-mail more often than phone messages , so we will probably get back to you faster through e-mailing.

You can fill out our adoption application before or after you contact us.  Once you are approved we will then set up a day and and time that works for the both of us to meet the pet of interest.  This is important for us and for you , because we do this from our home.  Many times we may be at work, running errands or at an appointment.  If you drop by without confirming a day and time with us, you may find out we are not here.  We are still quite flexible and are more than willing to work within your schedule too.  Then , once a day and time is set, we will meet.  If you then fall helplessly in love and wish to adopt all that is left is an adoption form/contract to fill out and the adoption fee/donation.  It is also helpful if you bring a carrier to bring your new companion home in.  Again, we thank everyone who wishes to adopt!         

Surrendering

 If you are looking to surrender a pet please contact us with the above phone number or e-mail address.  We do not require a surrendering fee and we will not pass any judgement.  We also do not ask any questions.  We are understanding that things happen, and decisions need to be made.  All we want is for the pet to remain safe and healthy , we will help and take care of finding a great, loving home.  Please note we may not be able to take in a surrender right away due to lack of space, but we do have waiting list we can place you on, we will then contact you as soon as space opens up.  If all goes well, we will have room and can help immediately.
